Candle making process is quite simple but certain things should always be taken into account before initiating the process of candle making. To know how to make best candles one requires lot of practice, patience and off course mistakes are bound to happen. Following are the problems you can come across in the process of candle making.
1.Problem: The candle surface has air bubbles
Solution: Firstly it happens when the mold is having dust particles or water. The mold should be kept clean and dry. Secondly if you are pouring the wax when it is too hot. The best time to pour the wax when the temperature is between180-200°F
2.Problem: The candle does not come out of the mold properly
Solution: this problem might occur if the mold is dented. Mold should always be kept in the original pack when not in use. If the wax is not completely cooled then also this problem arises. See to it that the candle is thoroughly cooled and hardened before taking out from the mold.
3.candle cracked inside the mold
Solution: If the cooling process is tried to do faster this problem occurs. Do not place the mold in a cold-water bath or in the freezer to quicken the process.
4.The candle subsides down:
Solution: It usually happens when the tension around the wick is not released during hardening of the wax. One should always take care to make holes around the wick with the help of knitting needle or a skewer when wax is in a cooling process.
5.The flame is small and extinguishes very soon
Solution: This is due to excessive use of oil and fragrance. The dyes or fragrance oils have some solids, which may clog the wick if added in too much quantity.
