Wedding Unity Candles

The pillar candle is placed between the two tapering candles. Mothers of the bride and the bridegroom play very important role, during the wedding ceremony they lit the two tapering candles. After some time during the ongoing ceremony, when the bride and the bridegroom exchange vows and there is formal declaration of marriage, the bride and bridegroom take the tapering candles and light the large pillar candle symbolizing the union of two individuals and are committed towards each other.

The unity candles come in variety like a simple taper, a fancy decorated candle, a plain white or ivory pillar candle and many more. The burly pillar candle is decorated marvelously with ribbons, beads, and flowers. Even handcrafted candles are in vogue nowadays. The candles are especially made for the wedding couples having invitation, a picture of the couple or an inscription.
